Derek Fanning

Enlisting in the British Military in 1989, Derek has enjoyed a full and successful career spanning 24 years. During his varied military service, he undertook multiple world-wide operational deployments, including the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Particular highlights included being selected for the Staff Support Assistant PATA and Military Diplomatic Service within the British Embassy Yemen where he served as the Assistant Defence Attaché.

On completion of his military service Derek has been employed in various international companies such as BNY Mellon as a Project Manager, Head of HR (Afghanistan) Hart International, and as an Operations and Recruitment Manager with AMBREY Risk.

Derek joined Vallis Commodities Limited in October 2015 as Country Manager in Cameroon and is currently studying a part time Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management
