Mame Thierno Birahim Pouye was born in Pikine Guinaw Rails, Senegal and spent his early years in the Dakar suburbs before moving to Kaolack at the age of nine, where he continued his education while living with his father. Ten years later, he returned to Dakar to attend Seydina Limamou Laye Technical High School and subsequently spent several years working in the retail sector.
In September 2009, Mame Thierno began his professional career at the Port of Dakar with CECOMI, while also gaining valuable experience as a Tally Clerk with a number of other companies operating within the port environment.
He joined Vallis in March 2013 and quickly demonstrated his capabilities, earning promotion to Deputy Supervisor after just five months. In 2017, he advanced to the role of Warehouse Supervisor and went on to undertake a range of international assignments across Mauritania, Morocco and Guinea-Bissau, including serving as Country Supervisor Relief.
Building on his extensive operational experience and leadership skills, Mame Thierno progressed through a number of key positions within the business and now serves as Country Manager for Cameroon, based in Douala, where he oversees Vallis operations in the country.
Committed to continuous professional development, Mame Thierno has further enhanced his expertise through a number of specialist qualifications. These include a Specialist Certificate in First Aid and Fire Safety, awarded by SAMBENE Sécurité Incendie in Mbour, Senegal, in 2023 and a Certificate in Food Science and Quality Control from IVUSTI International University.
Married and a proud father of two, Mame Thierno enjoys reading the Xassidas of Serigne Touba, spending quality time with his family and following football in his free time.
