East African Railways

East African countries began attempting to integrate with surrounding countries in the late 1900’s. In 1885, the Berlin Conference confirmed the division of East Africa placing Kenya, Uganda and Ethiopia under the rule of Britain. The construction of the railway in Uganda began in 1896 and was predominantly built with a labour force from India. Read more….
