I am pleased to announce that Vallis Trade Assurance Services (VTAS) is now providing Marine and Cargo services in Djibouti; one of the most exciting emerging markets in East Africa.
As the gateway to Ethiopia and its 100 million population, Djibouti has seen huge growth since 2011 with an average GDP increase of 9% per annum.
With the support of Chinese investment, the country has built 3 new ports and is developing the largest free zone in Africa. A new 1,000 km electric railway connecting the ports to Ethiopia has just been completed.
Vallis is working with a major fertilizer trader to monitor the discharge of bulk cargo in the port. So far this year, we have supervized the discharge of over 146,000 tonnes.
Vallis reports in real time via an online platform that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. All the vessel discharge activity, including stoppage records, occurrence logs and daily draft surveys is provided in the live report.
Attached is a photographic report showing the discharge of bulk fertilizer in the Djibouti Port; it can be accessed here.
